Newhall, CA – Injury Crash on I-5 S/Roxford St. After Truck Tire Blowout

Newhall, CA (August 30, 2025) – A collision on the Interstate 5 South near Roxford Street in the early hours of Saturday morning, August 30, left at least one person injured. The accident, reported around 2:30 a.m., occurred when a Ford pickup truck suffered a tire blowout and collided with another vehicle while traveling southbound.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived to find both vehicles blocking the HOV lane before one was moved to the right shoulder. Emergency medical crews treated the injured victims at the scene, while others were transported to nearby hospitals for additional care. The crash caused early-morning traffic disruptions as crews worked to clear the damaged vehicles and restore traffic flow.

Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine whether additional factors contributed to the crash beyond the tire failure.
