Newhall, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on I-5 Near Weldon Canyon

Newhall, CA (August 10, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Weldon Canyon left at least one person injured on the morning of August 8. The California Highway Patrol responded at 8:11 a.m. to find a black Kia SUV, a gray Jeep, and a third vehicle. Witnesses reported seeing debris scattered across the highway before first responders arrived. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedics treated the injured at the scene before transporting at least one patient to a local hospital.

Towing crews from Freeway Auto Towing worked to remove the vehicles while CHP officers directed traffic and managed the congestion caused by the crash. All lanes were eventually reopened after the roadway was cleared. Investigators are working to determine the events leading to the collision.
