Oceanside, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/Basilone Results in Injuries

Oceanside, CA (November 20, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on I-5 southbound near Basilone Road resulted in non-life-threatening injuries on Thursday morning, November 20. The California Highway Patrol reported that a silver Honda Accord and a blue Tesla Model 3 collided along the right-hand shoulder, prompting emergency dispatch.

Camp Pendleton Fire Department responded immediately upon receiving reports of the crash. One driver sustained pain-related injuries and was evaluated by medics, though they declined ambulance transport. Responders noted that the injured individual had a pre-existing left-hand injury, but it remains unclear whether the collision aggravated it. Traffic slowed briefly as officers assessed the scene and ensured both vehicles were safely positioned on the shoulder.
