Portland, OR – Semi-Truck Collision on I-5 at MP 299 Causes Injuries
Portland, OR (October 20, 2025) – A two-truck collision caused injuries on northbound Interstate 5 at milepost 299 on Monday, October 20. According to the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT), one of the semi-trucks involved was transporting boxes filled with diesel fuel additives, some of which spilled onto the roadway, prompting the deployment of a hazmat team for cleanup. The other semi-truck was reportedly carrying live chickens, though it remains unclear whether any escaped during the crash.
Emergency responders and Oregon State Police arrived quickly to secure the area and assist the injured. At least one person sustained minor injuries and received medical attention at the scene. Cleanup crews worked for several hours to contain the spill and restore safe traffic flow. Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
