Sacramento, CA – Two Vehicles Collide on I-5 N/Hwy 99, Causing Injuries

Sacramento, CA (August 20, 2025) – On the evening of August 20th, a collision between two vehicles caused injuries on I-5 northbound just south of Highway 99 in Sacramento. The crash occurred around 6:26 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Reports indicate that a blue Chevrolet Bolt and a dark gray Toyota sedan were involved in the collision.

Emergency responders confirmed that at least one occupant was injured and required medical assistance at the scene. Paramedics transported one of the victims to a local hospital for evaluation. The incident led to traffic slowdowns in the northbound lanes as law enforcement secured the area and documented the crash.

Crews also worked to clear debris and remove the damaged cars, which sustained visible front-end and side impact damage. Investigators are looking into what caused the accident.
