San Diego, CA – Crash on I-5 N/SR-56 Involving Two Cars Leaves Injuries

San Diego, CA (September 18, 2025) – Multiple people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday afternoon, September 18, on I-5 northbound near the State Route 56 interchange in San Diego. The accident was reported around 4:34 p.m. and involved a dark blue sedan and a black sedan.

The California Highway Patrol arrived within minutes and confirmed both vehicles had sustained major front-end damage. Paramedics evaluated several people at the scene, with one individual taken to a local hospital for further care. The severity of the injuries remains under review.

Traffic along the northbound lanes of I-5 was disrupted for more than an hour as investigators processed the scene and tow trucks cleared the damaged cars. CHP officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
