San Diego, CA – Subaru Crosstrek-Sedan Crash on I-5/Carmel Valley Leaves Injuries
San Diego, CA (September 18, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on I-5 northbound just south of State Route 56 in Carmel Valley left several people injured Thursday afternoon, September 18. The accident was reported to the California Highway Patrol around 4:13 p.m. and involved a dark blue Subaru Crosstrek and a black sedan.
San Diego Police officers and CHP units quickly responded to the crash, finding both vehicles with heavy collision damage. At least one person sustained injuries requiring hospital transport, while others were treated by paramedics at the scene. Officials have not yet released the extent of the victims’ injuries. Investigators documented the scene, and tow trucks removed the wreckage.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause, with early reports suggesting sudden braking may have been a factor.
