San Diego, CA – Hit-and-Run Crash with Injuries on I-5/Carmel Mountain

San Diego, CA (July 30, 2025) – A two-vehicle hit-and-run crash with reported injuries occurred along northbound I-5 near Carmel Mountain Road on the afternoon of July 30th. The California Highway Patrol responded at approximately 4:26 p.m. and found a black Ford Mustang CV pulled onto the right-hand shoulder.

The victim reported that the other vehicle involved fled the scene before authorities arrived. San Diego Fire-Rescue also responded and blocked the slow lane to assist the injured driver. While the extent of injuries is currently unknown, paramedics treated the individual at the scene. A tow truck was later requested for the disabled Mustang.

The crash is being investigated as a felony hit-and-run, and CHP is pursuing leads based on witness accounts and possible surveillance footage from the area. No suspect vehicle description has been released yet.
