San Diego, CA – Hit-and-Run Results in Serious Injuries on SB San Diego Fwy at 28TH St Connector

San Diego, CA (March 6, 2023) – A hit-and-run accident occurred on the Southbound San Diego Freeway near the 28th St intersection in San Diego on March 5th, resulting in major injuries.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a gray KIA collided with an unknown vehicle before crashing into the center divider. The collision caused debris to scatter across the lanes, resulting in a traffic hazard.

Emergency services responded to the scene at 2:31 a.m. where they found the KIA driver in pain after sustaining injuries. The CHP requested an ambulance to transport the driver to UCSD for emergency treatment.

The accident resulted in the hard closure of lanes #1 and #2, and the CHP had to stop traffic to make way for the emergency responders.

The incident is still under investigation, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
