San Diego, CA – Injuries Reported in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/SR-52
San Diego, CA (June 30, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision led to injuries on the southbound lanes of I-5 near the State Route 52 interchange late Monday afternoon, June 30. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to the crash at approximately 5:34 p.m. Initial reports indicated that at least three to four vehicles, including a green SUV and a silver Volkswagen Jetta, were involved. Witnesses reported seeing the silver Jetta speeding before the incident, and the suspected vehicle was later located approximately one mile south of the crash site by the Freeway Service Patrol. Emergency responders from the San Diego Police Department assisted on scene. At least one person sustained injuries, though the extent of those injuries remains unclear. Some victims were treated on-site while others were transported to nearby medical facilities for further evaluation. Investigations into the cause of the collision are ongoing.
