San Diego, CA – Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 N/Del Mar Heights

San Diego, CA (February 2, 2026) – On February 2, emergency crews were called to a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 North near Del Mar Heights, where injuries were reported. Authorities received reports of people exiting damaged vehicles across multiple lanes of traffic.

One driver stated that another vehicle had been swerving before stopping on the roadway. A gray Subaru came to rest on the right shoulder after a male driver was found passed out. Witnesses assisted by moving the disabled vehicle out of the active lanes.

A second driver sat on the ground against a vehicle while waiting for medical care. Paramedics responded to check on all parties involved as traffic remained blocked near the off-ramp.

Road crews and emergency responders worked to manage traffic conditions while caring for those hurt. Lanes were halted for a short period as crews assessed injuries and secured the area.
