San Diego, CA – Injury Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/National City Blvd.

San Diego, CA (January 27, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 southbound near National City Boulevard left multiple people injured on Monday, January 26, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash occurred south of the Main Division area and involved at least three vehicles, with later reports indicating a fourth vehicle was also impacted.

Authorities stated that a white Mazda SUV and a black sedan collided in the center divider, while a blue Nissan Rogue and a white Ford Bronco came to rest on the right-hand shoulder.

CHP officers and the California Freeway Service Patrol responded to the scene to manage traffic and assess injuries. Several occupants were evaluated at the scene for injuries, and at least one person received medical assistance before being transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.
