Oceanside, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Aliso Creek Rest Area Causes Injuries

Oceanside, CA (January 27, 2026) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 southbound near the Aliso Creek Rest Area led to injuries on Monday, January 26, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision occurred north of Oceanside near Camp Pendleton property and involved a pickup truck and a passenger vehicle. Authorities reported that a Ford F-150 left the roadway and traveled approximately 60 feet down an embankment, while another vehicle was located in the center divider near the guardrail.

CHP officers arrived to find significant vehicle damage, including deployed airbags and evidence of multiple impacts. A male driver was unable to exit his gray Ford F-150 on his own and was assessed at the scene before being transported to Mission Hospital for further medical care.

Another involved vehicle, described as a blue sedan, was found on the right shoulder near the guardrail. Injury details for other occupants have not been released. Towing crews were called in, including a secondary tow truck equipped with cables to safely recover the truck from the embankment.

The California Highway Patrol is reviewing the incident to determine the events leading up to the crash.
