Santa Ana, CA—Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/1st St Sends Injured Victims for Care
Santa Ana, CA (January 27, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 southbound near the 1st Street area resulted in injuries on Monday, January 26. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred in the southbound lanes and involved three vehicles: a white Toyota Corolla, a white Dodge, and a red Toyota 4Runner.
CHP officers and Santa Ana Fire Authority crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of a traffic collision with possible injuries. One individual reported pain following the crash and was evaluated on-site by medical personnel. An ambulance was requested, and at least one injured party was transported to a nearby medical facility for further evaluation.
Freeway Service Patrol assisted with traffic control as tow trucks worked to remove the damaged vehicles. Several lanes were temporarily blocked, causing delays in the area while responders worked to clear the roadway. The identities of those involved have not been released.
The California Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
