San Diego, CA – Pickup-Sedan Crash on I-5/Via De La Valle, Injuries Reported

San Diego, CA (September 25, 2025) – A collision between a gray Ford pickup truck and a gray Toyota Corolla caused injuries on I-5 near Via De La Valle Thursday evening. The California Highway Patrol responded to the northbound lanes around 6:44 p.m. Officers arriving at the scene discovered significant front-end damage to both vehicles, leaving debris scattered across the roadway.

Paramedics evaluated several victims for injuries, with at least one person transported to a nearby hospital for additional treatment. Officials did not immediately confirm the severity of the injuries.

Traffic was heavily delayed as authorities redirected vehicles around the blocked lanes. Tow trucks removed the wrecked cars shortly after, allowing lanes to reopen. CHP continues to investigate what caused the crash and whether driver error contributed to the collision.
