San Diego, CA – Three-Vehicle Pileup on I-5 N/Genesee Leaves One Injured

San Diego, CA (July 31, 2025) – A three-vehicle collision on I-5 Northbound near the Genesee Avenue exit resulted in injuries on Thursday evening, July 31. The accident occurred during the evening commute and involved a silver Tesla sedan, a Volkswagen Beetle, and a white SUV.

California Highway Patrol responded to the crash shortly after it was reported, finding one person who had sustained injuries and complained of pain, prompting CHP to request medical personnel. The injured individual was evaluated on-site by Metro emergency responders, and it remains unclear if hospital transport was required. One of the vehicles, the silver Tesla, suffered severe front-end damage and was deemed undriveable.
