Santa Ana, CA – Crash on I-5 N at SR-55 Connector, One Injured

Santa Ana, CA (July 31, 2025) – One person sustained injuries in a crash involving two Mazdas on Thursday evening, July 31, on the I-5 North transition to SR-55 in Santa Ana. The California Highway Patrol reported the incident at approximately 5:18 p.m. A white Mazda CX-5, identified as a rideshare vehicle operated by Lyft, collided with a white Mazda sedan in the number 1 lane. One passenger complained of pain and requested medical assistance.

Paramedics responded to the scene and transported the injured individual to a nearby medical facility for evaluation and treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown. Southside Tow was called to remove the damaged vehicles, which suffered moderate front-end damage. The roadway was fully cleared and reopened after the vehicles were towed.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the cause of the crash.
