San Diego, CA – Two-Vehicle Collision on I-5/Del Mar Heights Results in Injuries
San Diego, CA (October 15, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash on I-5 northbound near Del Mar Heights left several individuals injured on Wednesday evening, October 15. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), two cars collided in the northbound lanes just south of Del Mar Heights, causing significant disruptions to evening traffic. Both vehicles were heavily damaged, forcing officers to close part of the roadway while emergency crews assisted the victims. One individual sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for further care.
Tow trucks later arrived to clear the damaged cars, allowing traffic to flow again after a considerable delay. CHP continues to investigate the cause of the crash, and preliminary findings indicate that driver attentiveness will be a key factor in the inquiry.
