San Diego, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5 S/SR-54 Leaves One Injured

San Diego, CA (August 14, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash caused injuries on I-5 South just north of SR-54 on Thursday afternoon, August 14. The accident, reported shortly before 4:00 p.m., involved two passenger vehicles that collided in the middle lanes, creating a traffic hazard for oncoming motorists.

The California Highway Patrol officers and San Diego Fire-Rescue crews responded quickly, finding both vehicles with moderate damage. Emergency responders treated at least one injured individual at the scene. That person was later transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

Authorities worked to direct vehicles around the crash while tow trucks cleared the wreckage. Investigators are reviewing witness statements and traffic camera footage to determine the sequence of events.
