Santa Ana, CA – Collision on I-5 S. Main St. Sends Victims to Hospital

Santa Ana, CA (August 22, 2025) – Early Thursday morning, August 21, a two-vehicle collision was reported on the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 near Main Street in Santa Ana. California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers confirmed that a green Toyota 4Runner collided with another vehicle that had been stopped as a traffic hazard in the middle lane. The crash occurred around 3:51 a.m., when traffic was light but moving at higher speeds. The Toyota SUV struck the disabled vehicle, leaving both cars heavily damaged in the roadway.

Responding officers confirmed that injuries were sustained in the crash. Emergency personnel provided on-site medical aid before transporting at least one individual to a nearby medical facility for further treatment. The CHP temporarily closed down two lanes as crews cleared the wreckage and investigated the incident.
