Santa Fe Springs, CA – Five-Vehicle Crash on I-5 South Near Lakewood Blvd On-Ramp Injures Motorist
Santa Fe Springs, CA (August 23, 2025) – Early Saturday morning, August 23, a multi-vehicle collision on the southbound I-5 near the Lakewood Boulevard on-ramp led to at least one person being injured. The California Highway Patrol confirmed that the crash initially involved three vehicles but was later updated to include as many as five vehicles. Witnesses reported multiple drivers and passengers standing along the center divider for safety after the crash. Los Angeles Police Department units driving through the area also confirmed seeing one car blocking the middle lanes. Emergency crews from the Downey Fire Department responded, providing aid to one motorist who complained of pain in the right shin. Fortunately, no victims required immediate hospitalization; however, ambulances remained on standby for further evaluation. Investigators are reviewing how the chain-reaction crash occurred.
We extend our well wishes to the injured motorist and hope for a swift recovery.
