Westminster, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 Near SR-91 Injures Children

Westminster, CA (September 1, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 northbound near SR-91 resulted in injuries, including to children, late Monday night, September 1. The California Highway Patrol arrived at the scene around 8:45 p.m. after reports of two vehicles colliding on the right shoulder. Authorities confirmed that a dark gray Lexus RX300 SUV and a gray Honda were involved.

Medics were called to assess children traveling in one of the vehicles, though the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed. At least one victim required additional medical attention at a local hospital. CHP officers worked to document the scene while tow trucks were requested to clear the damaged vehicles. Investigators are determining what led to the collision, with early reports suggesting that sudden lane changes may have played a role.
