Westminster, CA – Two-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Katella Ave. Leaves Injuries

Westminster, CA (September 16, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on I-5 northbound near East Katella Avenue in Westminster left several people injured on Tuesday afternoon, September 16. The crash occurred when a dark blue Toyota Corolla and a white pickup truck collided along the right shoulder of the freeway. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers responded shortly after the crash was reported. Both vehicles came to rest on the narrow shoulder, creating a traffic hazard for drivers approaching the area. Emergency crews evaluated the occupants, and at least one person sustained injuries requiring further medical attention. Paramedics provided on-site care before transporting the injured party to a nearby hospital. The Toyota sustained visible front-end damage, while the pickup truck was also heavily damaged in the impact. Tow trucks were later called to remove the disabled vehicles from the roadway. Traffic along I-5 was temporarily slowed as crews worked to clear the scene. CHP is investigating the crash to determine the events that led to the collision.
