Anderson, CA – One Killed in Fatal Crash on Cascade Wonderland Highway near Deschutes Rd

Anderson, CA (February 14, 2023) – One person was fatally injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred in the Anderson area just south of Redding.

Just before 5:00 p.m. on February 12, the California Highway Patrol responded to the site of an automobile accident that took place on the Cascade Wonderland Highway, Interstate 5.

Reports provided by authorities show that a collision involving a Toyota SUV and an unknown number of vehicles occurred on the north side of the highway. The impact of the crash caused the SUV to roll over just south of Deschutes Road.

Three people were severely injured in the accident. Two of the victims were transported by LifeFlight to Mercy medical hospital for emergency care. The third victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol at this time.
