Bakersfield, CA – One Dead After DUI Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5/Templin Hwy.
Bakersfield, CA (November 10, 2025) – A deadly multi-vehicle collision on northbound Interstate 5 left one man dead and another arrested on Saturday, November 8. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the crash occurred around 11:10 p.m. north of Templin Highway. When officers arrived, they found a white Jeep Cherokee whose 61-year-old driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified the driver of the second vehicle, a silver Toyota Camry, as 21-year-old Martin Enrique Cazares from Wasco. CHP determined that Cazares was under the influence at the time of the collision. He was taken into custody and booked into the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Station in Santa Clarita for felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter. The highway was temporarily shut down for cleanup and investigation.
