Capistrano, CA – Three-Vehicle Crash on I-5 N/Avenida Presidio Leaves Injury

Capistrano, CA (August 31, 2025) – A serious three-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 North at Avenida Presidio on Sunday, August 31, left multiple people injured, including one driver who was reported unconscious. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed that the crash involved a red Honda Civic, a tow truck, and a gray pickup truck. Fire crews and paramedics quickly responded, blocking three of the four lanes to safely assist victims.

The unconscious driver of the pickup was transported by ambulance to a nearby trauma center, while others were treated for moderate injuries on site. The wreck caused heavy traffic backups until tow trucks arrived to remove the damaged vehicles. CHP officers reopened all lanes later in the evening but remained at the scene to conduct an investigation. Authorities are working to determine the exact cause of the collision.
