Lacey, WA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 NB Leaves Three Injured
Lacey, WA (December 4, 2025) – A serious multi-car collision involving a car-hauling semi-truck and a school bus left three people injured Thursday morning, December 4, on northbound Interstate 5 in Lacey. The crash was reported at approximately 7:29 a.m. near milepost 109.1, just past Martin Way East. According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Kameron Watts, the semi, which was transporting multiple vehicles, jackknifed while traveling behind a school bus.
Investigators later confirmed that the semi-truck driver was following the school bus too closely, and when attempting to avoid rear-ending the bus, the truck veered and jackknifed instead. Multiple other vehicles were also involved, though exact totals remain under review. Fortunately, no children were on the school bus at the time of the crash, but three individuals did sustain injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
Washington State Patrol has since arrested the semi-truck driver for operating a commercial vehicle without a valid CDL. Troopers continue to investigate the crash.
We extend our well-wishes to those injured and hope for a full recovery ahead.
