Modesto, CA – Big Rig Collision on I-5 Near Pete Miller Rd Leaves Injuries

Modesto, CA (August 18, 2025) – A vehicle collided with a big rig on northbound I-5 near Pete Miller Road late Sunday night, August 17, resulting in injuries. The crash was reported around 10:40 p.m. on August 17. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), a passenger vehicle struck the side of a tractor-trailer, leaving the smaller vehicle heavily damaged. Emergency crews responded quickly and provided medical aid to the victims. At least one person was transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The crash caused partial lane closures as debris was removed and the vehicles were towed away. Traffic was slowed in the area while CHP officers investigated the circumstances of the collision. Authorities are continuing their review to determine whether fatigue, speed, or improper lane use contributed to the crash.
