Oceanside, CA – Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5/La Costa Leaves Injuries
Oceanside, CA (January 4, 2026) – A multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 northbound near La Costa resulted in injuries on Sunday, January 4, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The crash occurred south of La Costa and involved at least three vehicles, including a black Mercedes-Benz and a Honda SUV.
CHP reports indicated that several vehicles were disabled and blocking lanes, with some facing the wrong direction and creating a traffic hazard. Oceanside Police and CHP officers responded to assist with traffic control and scene management.
Injured individuals reported pain at the scene, and at least one person was transported to Palomar Medical Center for further evaluation. Other occupants received on-site medical assessments and were released. Tow trucks were called to remove damaged vehicles, and lanes reopened after cleanup was completed.
