Orange Co., CA – Motorcycle Rider Injured in I-5 N Collision at SR-1

Orange County, CA (August 10, 2025) – A serious collision involving a motorcycle and an SUV on Interstate 5 North at State Route 1 in Orange County left at least one person injured on Sunday evening, August 10. The crash was reported around 6:18 p.m. and involved a black Toyota SUV and a motorcycle. The California Highway Patrol quickly issued a SigAlert, closing several lanes, including the HOV lane, to allow emergency crews to work safely. Paramedics arrived on the scene to provide immediate aid to the injured motorcyclist before transporting them to a local medical facility for further care.

The SUV sustained front-end damage, while the motorcycle suffered extensive impact damage. Authorities called in a flatbed tow truck to remove the motorcycle from the scene. CHP officers are reviewing witness statements and roadway evidence to determine the cause of the crash.
