Sacramento, CA – Crash on I-5 at Elk Grove Blvd Off-Ramp, Injuries Reported

Sacramento, CA (August 22, 2025) – On the afternoon of August 21st, a collision involving a black Mercedes sedan and a semi-truck with an enclosed trailer occurred on I-5 near the Elk Grove Boulevard off-ramp. The California Highway Patrol responded at around 3:26 p.m. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that the Mercedes sustained extensive front-end damage while the semi-truck blocked part of the off-ramp. Paramedics assessed the injured at the scene, with at least one individual transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation. The extent of their injuries has not yet been disclosed. The crash caused lane closures, forcing traffic into a bottleneck during peak afternoon hours. Tow crews worked to remove the vehicles, while CHP began investigating potential causes.
