Sacramento, CA – Semi Crash on I-5 at Q Street Off-Ramp, Injuries Confirmed

Sacramento, CA (August 22, 2025) – On August 21st, a collision between a black Tesla Model 3 and a Freightliner semi-truck occurred on northbound I-5 near the Q Street off-ramp in South Sacramento. The crash resulted in reported injuries and significant traffic delays. CHP officers responding to the scene found both vehicles damaged. Emergency personnel evaluated the injured, with at least one individual requiring transport to a nearby hospital for medical care. Others were treated on-site for non-life-threatening injuries. The off-ramp was partially blocked for more than an hour as crews worked to remove the semi-truck and clear debris from the road. Traffic congestion stretched back for several miles during the cleanup. The California Highway Patrol has launched an investigation into the cause of the crash.
