Sacramento, CA – Semi-Truck and Pickup Crash on I-5 S/Sutterville Rd.
Sacramento, CA (August 31, 2025) – On Saturday afternoon, August 30, a semi-truck hauling a fuel tank and a Chevrolet pickup collided along I-5 southbound just past Sutterville Road. CHP units arrived at around 1:34 p.m. The crash caused the semi to leak antifreeze while both vehicles came to rest along the right shoulder. Paramedics evaluated the drivers and passengers at the scene, and at least one person sustained injuries requiring hospital care. Tow trucks were requested to remove the Chevrolet pickup and assist with clearing the roadway. Southbound traffic slowed significantly while crews worked. CHP confirmed that hazardous materials teams were not needed, though firefighters ensured the fluid leak did not pose additional risks. Investigations remain ongoing.
Our thoughts are with the victims as they recover.
