Sacramento, CA – Wreck on I-5 at Richards Blvd, Injuries Reported

Sacramento, CA (August 22, 2025) – On Thursday morning, August 21st, a serious crash involving a black minivan and an 18-wheeler was reported on northbound I-5 near the Richards Boulevard on-ramp in South Sacramento. The California Highway Patrol stated that the minivan, which was carrying disabled plates, collided with the large truck around 9:08 a.m. Multiple victims were injured, and at least one individual required ambulance transport to a local hospital for further treatment. Emergency medical crews responded quickly, providing immediate on-site care to those hurt. The collision also forced authorities to temporarily shut down lanes while investigators examined the scene and tow crews worked to remove the wreckage. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
