San Diego, CA – Motorcycle-SUV Crash on I-5/Camino de la Plaza, Rider Injured

San Diego, CA (August 13, 2025) – On Wednesday afternoon, August 13, a motorcycle rider was injured in a two-vehicle collision on southbound I-5 near Camino de la Plaza in San Diego. The crash, reported at 4:29 p.m., involved a dark Ford Escape and a motorcycle that had reportedly been riding on the right shoulder and lane-splitting moments before impact.

CHP officers and paramedics arrived promptly, providing on-site medical care before transporting the motorcyclist to a local hospital for further evaluation. The other driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The damaged SUV was later towed from the area. Traffic delays were reported in the slow lane as crews cleared debris. Authorities continue to review the circumstances leading up to the crash.
