San Diego, CA – Two Hurt in I-5 N at SR-56 Crash Involving Two Cars
San Diego, CA (July 21, 2025) – Two people sustained injuries following a high-speed collision involving a black Mercedes and a pink Ford Mustang on northbound Interstate 5 near the Carmel Valley SR-56 junction on Monday, July 21. The California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of a crash in the fast lane during late afternoon hours. Upon arrival, San Diego Fire-Rescue paramedics assessed the victims and transported two individuals with moderate injuries to a nearby medical facility. The accident led to a significant slowdown in traffic during peak hours as emergency crews cleared debris and ensured no further hazards. CHP officers are investigating the cause of the collision and whether speeding or aggressive lane changes played a role.
Our thoughts are with those injured, and we wish them a safe and speedy recovery.
