San Fernando, CA – Fiery Golden State Freeway Crash Ends in Injuries

San Fernando, CA (February 12, 2023) – A vehicle caught on fire as a result of a crash that occurred on Friday afternoon in the Mission Hills neighborhood.

At approximately 12:30 p.m. on February 10, the California Highway Patrol responded to a traffic collision that had taken place on Interstate 5, the Golden State Freeway.

Preliminary reports show that a crash occurred on the southbound side of the roadway near California State Route 118 eastbound. The impact of the collision caused one vehicle to catch on fire.

Firefighters responded to the scene to extinguish the blaze. Highway Patrol and firefighters worked to remove the damaged vehicles and debris from the travel lanes.

At least one person was injured and transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

The incident remains under investigation at this time.
