Yolo Co., CA – Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on I-5 Near I-505

Yolo County, CA (October 24, 2025) – A pedestrian was struck and killed on October 21 in a hit-and-run crash involving a big rig on Interstate 5 near Interstate 505 in Yolo County.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred around 8:00 p.m. when a man attempted to run across the southbound lanes of I-5. A white big rig traveling southbound hit the pedestrian, causing them fatal injuries.

Investigators said the truck driver initially slowed down after the impact but then continued driving south toward Sacramento without stopping.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after and pronounced the pedestrian dead. The victim’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

CHP officers are actively investigating the incident and searching for the driver involved.
